LESSON 2 — The VERSES

The verse sections begin with the same chord progression as the intro section! This chord sequence forms the main body of the song and is used throughout all of the verses, as well as the first instrumental section.

You’ll notice that the progression moves through a variety of chord shapes, but many of them are closely related and sit comfortably under the fingers. Take your time to become familiar with each shape and how they connect.

Focus on keeping your strumming steady while allowing your fretting hand to move smoothly between chords. Some of the changes may feel quick at first, so it’s important to practice slowly and build up speed gradually.

As you work through this section, try to think of it as a flowing sequence rather than individual chords. This will help you maintain a musical feel and avoid stopping between changes.
