UCL2 - WEEK 2
"SPACE ODDITY"
SPACE ODDITY is one of David Bowie’s most famous early songs, released in 1969—right around the time of the Apollo 11 moon landing. It tells the story of Major Tom, an astronaut who launches into space and gradually loses contact with Earth. On the surface it’s sci-fi, but underneath it’s about isolation, disconnection, and drifting away from control.

This is quite a challenging song with 14 chords, but great fun once you get the hang of it. It consists of single down strums, so you can relax on the strumming side of things!
You may come across chords you've not played before, such as Fmaj7, B diminished and the added 9th chords, so make sure you watch the chord video before progressing onto the play along video. Good luck - and as always if you have any questions - please contact me in your WhatsApp group!

Look out for the fret number on the E chord - you should bar this chord at fret number 4. The Bo represents B Diminished 7th - this is the shorthand way to recognise the chord name.
Here is the left hand chords - notice the Bdim7 is written out with it's full shortened title.
