PEOPLE ARE STRANGE

"PEOPLE ARE STRANGE" by The Doors uses apocalyptic weather imagery inspired by the 1941 film The Devil and Daniel Webster to symbolise the concept of impending doom and is a great to the UCL Halloween repertoire.

SONG 2 - PEOPLE ARE STRANGE

This song contains 4 chords, Em, Am, B7 & G and is in the key of Em however, this chord progression is not played chromatically throughout so see the song sheets for more information.

There are a combination of strumming patterns and 3 choices to play B7 in open position. Ideally if you are moving from a G to B7 - you can easily shift the whole G shape up to the GC & E strings for B7a. Otherwise if you are moving to or from an Em chords, try B7b as again, it is the same shape as Em but moved onto the GC & E strings.

PART 1: This is the basic rhythm part with open chords and includes the riff section. This is pretty much the same as the arrangement in the songbook - with a few mild arrangement updates.

PART 2. If you are keen to play more alternative chord positions and a bit of finger picking, give part 2 a go. Download the songsheet below and Have a listen to the audio track to hear what it should sound like.
