See below for a detailed view of the course content. Once you have secured your payment online you will receive an email confirming your booking along with some top tips on preparing for your course, terms and conditions, a timetable for your selected class option, a link to join a Closed Facebook Group where you can communicate with your class and course leader outside of club hours if required and a link to set up a UCL Account where you can access all course material including PDFs, MP3s and video tutorials.
The final week is where you get to meet up with all other UCL members at our exclusive venue to showcase you new skills. Friends and family are welcome to attend these events. Tickets will be available nearer the time.
If you are unable to secure your place via this online booking system please attend our official ENROLMENT DAY on Saturday 4th January 2020 from 1.00pm at Eastfield Play Centre.
We will be teaming up with Eastfield Day Nursery for classes on Monday and Friday mornings to provide you with quality childcare for parents and carers who would like to attend classes. You will be able to drop your child off 15mins before the class starts with up to 15 minutes to collect them after class times finish for less that £5 per childcare session. These morning class options are also eligible for the 0 - 6 EPiC Kids Club category where up to one child per adult may attend for the £99 fee. Parents/carers are allowed to attend with up to 3 children each at an extra charge of £39 per 2nd & 3rd child.
NB: All classes will only run if they pass the minimum quota of participation. In the event that your selected class time does not meet the minimum quota you will be offered an alternative class time or 100% refund.

SINGING: At this level, singing is encouraged and very welcome. You will learn the main melody lines for each of the songs selected.
COURSE MATERIAL: To access the course material you will need to set up an account via this website. You will receive an invite link to set up your account approximately one week before the course commences. This is where you will be able to view any associated video tutorials and download all course materials, including PDF worksheets, song-sheets and MP3 downloads. You are responsible for printing and storing your own PDF sheets prior to each class. It is essential that you bring all course material to each class so get yourself a folder.
COURSE COMMUNICATION: You will receive a link to join a Closed Facebook Group via email approximately one week before the course commences. A closed group means that only members of your class and the class leaders can access the group. This is where you can contact us out of club hours, chat ukulele with your classmates and find out about all UCL out of hours activities and events. Please keep all posts ukulele related in this group. If you do not use Facebook please email us at: email@example.com with any course related questions. We will endeavour to respond asap.
HOME PRACTICE: We recommend that you practice each of the exercises you are shown in class as often as you can in between weekly sessions. A minimum of 1-2 bite-sized, 20 minute daily practice sessions are a superb way to help you develop the essential muscle memory required for enabling your hands and fingers to obtain functional control of your ukulele. The video tutorials and audio MP3s are for assistance with your home practice or if you miss a session, so use them to your advantage. Keep your ukulele within reach for regular practice sessions at home. Out of sight, out of mind.
END OF TERM CELEBRATION: During the final week of each term, all UCL Members gather for the UCL end of term celebration at our exclusive venue to showcase their new ukulele skills. There are three events throughout the year that coincide with the 3 terms; SPRING, SUMMER and the final FESTIVE CELEBRATION. Friends and family are very welcome to attend. Tickets will be available at least two weeks prior to each event and booking is essential. Each event features a fundraising raffle to assist some fantastic charitable courses within the local region and guest appearances from local and national ukulele bands and artists. Flyers and posters will be available prior to each event so please share them and join the Facebook event pages to keep up to date with all event activity.
NEXT STEPS: Upon completion of this course you can apply to join the level 2.2 Basic Skills 2 course or if you feel like you could do with a bit more training at level 2.1 then you are very welcome to rejoin the same course again the following term. Each term consists of different song exploration so there will always be new content to learn.
