SINGING: At this level, singing is required. We will dedicate some time to vocal exercises and harmonising during the 2nd half term with options to take solo lead on various songs throughout the term.
COURSE MATERIAL: The level 3 ukulele course comes with a number of media materials including song sheets, PDF work sheets, MP3 rehearsal tracks and some video tutorials that you can access via your UCL account. throughout the term to be used for evaluation and group feedback, and some video tutorials. You are responsible for printing and storing your own PDF sheets and it is essential that you bring all course material to all sessions.
COURSE COMMUNICATION: As usual we will use Facebook Closed Groups as a way to communicate outside of club hours. You will need to be connected to the internet when accessing FB closed group media.
HOME PRACTICE: It is essential that you dedicate at least an extra 3-5 hours per week for home practice at this level and use a metronome when practising those solos, riffs and finger picking patterns. Remember that practice doesn't just mean running through the songs or exercises, it means stopping when you get to the parts that need a bit more work and spending time ironing out any creases.
PERFORMANCES: Gigs and events pop up all the time in which case extra rehearsal sessions may be added during term time.
NEXT STEPS: The UCL Play courses are continuous with new performance material each term so you can extend your level 3 membership throughout the year. WHO CAN APPLY: 18+ who have completed up to level 2.2 and who are willing to perform live as a member of the UCL House Band throughout the Spring term of 2020.
