ADVANCED UKULELE ONLINE COURSE
EPISODE 2: THE 12th STREET RAG
LAUNCHES: Thursday 28th January 2021
ZOOM MEETINGS: 7.30pm (UK Time)
Advance your ukulele playing skills with techniques that will really make your music come alive.
We were delighted to team up with the amazingly talented Ukulele Uff, a true master of the ukulele strings and advocate of Tin Pan Alley music and other great sounds from the early 20th century.
This UCL Advanced Ukulele course is the second in the series of advanced skills training and is for those looking to improve their intermediate techniques and playing virtuosity with even more content than before.
The 12th Street Rag originally written by Euday L Bowman in 1898 and first published in 1914 has been re-arranged for UCL ukulele training purposes by our very own Rag Time specialist, Ukulele Uff, formerly known as Chris Hough, sometimes known as just Uff.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- The Split Stroke
- Advanced Melody Plucking and Finger Picking Techniques
- Breaks, Fills & Runs
- Improving the Fan Stroke and Thumb Roll
- The 12th Street Rag in the Key of C
HOW IT WORKS:
There will be 5 sessions hosted by Ukulele Uff taking place at 7.30pm UK Time on Zoom. Once you register you will receive another email within 48 hours with your ZOOM Meeting ID and passcode. You will also be invited to join a dedicated Facebook group where you can access any PDF downloads and easily communicate with the UCL team, Ukulele Uff himself and other course participants throughout the duration of the course. If you do not use Facebook, we can email any PDF materials over within 24 hours of each session taking place.
All 5 sessions will be recorded and uploaded to Youtube where you will be able to access the private links to rewatch any of the demonstrations over again.
WARNING: Not suitable for beginners.
