LIKE AN ORCHESTRA - JALOUSIE TANGO (April 2021)
LIKE AN ORCHESTRA is back for another instalment of ukulele orchestration with three levels to choose from. So whether you are a novice who has only been playing ukulele a short while or a master who has tonnes of experience, then these workshops are for you.
JALOUSIE TANGO is a song from the early 20th century, made famous by Hawaiian ukulele virtuoso Jesse Kalima. This song has been arranged for three parts for players at basic skills, intermediate and advanced level with Elaine leading the basic skills rhythm section and Ukulele Uff on board leading the intermediate and advanced sections.
HOW DOES IS WORK: Each level will attend 3 x 45 minute ukulele workshops via zoom during April. Each session comes with associated PDFs and MP3 Audio play along tracks with the opportunity to spend a few months practicing and an invitation to virtually record the track as an orchestra for showcasing at the UCL Summer Celebration in July 2021.
Each of the levels will take place as follows:
BASIC SKILLS: Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm on 7th, 14th, 21st April
INTERMEDIATE: Thursday evening 7.30pm on 8th, 15th & 22nd April
ADVANCED: Thursday evening 8.30pm on 8th, 15th & 22nd April
