WEEK 2

Welcome to week 2 of your Baritone Course!! This week you will explore two more of the Halloween songs with some new strumming patterns. Don't panic there are no key changes this week!

I have noticed that you have a few extra songs in your songbook I forgot to take out of Draft 1. This is the actual set list for the first half of term including the Claire House busking gig on on 31st October ... and possibly if we manage gate crash at this... WILL KEEP YOU POSTED!

SONGS

Make sure you have your Halloween Songbook to hand for the next two songs as follows and have a listen to the audio tracks for guidance:

  • Song 3: Spiderman (Theme Tune)
  • Song 4: Monster Mash

AUDIO TRACKS

SPIDERMAN has a driving rhythm most of the way through the song, until a break in the bridge for some single strums. Have a listen:
There are two baritone parts for the MONSTER MASH - the first is simple calypso strumming for the verses with a flamenco style strum for the chorus sections as follows:
Or if you are up for a bit more of a challenge, you can switch the calypso strum for some fingerpicking as shown on the song sheet, for the verse and bridge sections as follows:
