UCL PLAY
WEEK 1

Welcome to week one! As we gently move into the Autumn/Halloween season, you will start this term with a finger gym challenge like never before, let's just say it's a very solid exorcise!!!
We will also begin looking at a range of parts for the jazz standard classic, Autumn Leaves which debuted as “Les Feuilles Mortes.” in the 1946 poetic realism film, Les Portes de la Nuit, a dark drama set in post-World War II Paris. Nat King Cole, Eric Clapton, Eva Cassidy, Doris Day and many, many more established artists have covered this song.

FINGER GYM - THE ULTIMATE EXORCISE

FINGER GYM - EXORCISE PDF
FINGER GYM - BARITONE
This finger gym exorcise will really get your fingers fired up and your brain mushed! It is the theme tune from the Exorcist, more commonly known as Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield and it has two time signatures of 7/8 and 9/8 to really expand your playing ability.

During the first week you will be introduced to the technique to play this exercise efficiently and then each week you will be given a tempo to aim for with each warm up session. The original piece was recorded at 150BPM. If anyone reaches that speed effectively by halloween you be entered into a draw to will win a prize!
