UCL PLAY
WEEK 4

This week you will explore some of the more basic Halloween songs but will vamp them up with some finger picking patterns, alternative chord voicing s and key changes.

The emphasis on this session is to get used to playing the E Major position and seeing how changing keys is just a matter of moving those barred shapes up and down the neck.

We will attempt to get through 3 songs this week as follows:

1. DEM BONES

This song has 4 key changes. You can either play the chords with the basic strumming pattern as shown or the CAGE finger picking pattern, in which case you may need to rethink the last key change chord positions!

2. MONSTER MASH

This song has 4 chords that you will explore in 3 different positions using the calypso and chuck strum throughout.

3. HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF

This song has that E chord in with a little riff which can be played both as a bar and in open position and a funky strumming pattern throughout the verses.
