WEEK 5
BEATLES MEDLEY

After all that hard work, eight days a week practising Beatles song, I thought it may be fun to make a medley out them in preparation for Summer Strum festival coming up in July. Only time will tell ;)

It starts off with Now & Then so we will recap the strumming and picking for the start of this song. Download the full medley PDF to see all songs mashed together and have a listen to the audio.

As you can see, there aren't any chords on the sheet so now is the time to really get to know them all!! Here is a recap of the chords from Now & Then along with the strumming pattern and picking pattern for verse 1:

The Chords

You'll be glad to see that most of the chord shapes are quite basic and in open position apart from the Bm barred chord.

The STRUMMING PATTERN

There is just one main strumming pattern you will need to play for the chorus, instrumental and outro sections which is a 16th note pattern as illustrated below:

The PICKING PATTERN

For the verse sections, you will pick out the chords using only the C, E and A strings in a straight 8th pattern with a few variations on the final 3 chords.
Watch this Tab video to view and listen to the picking pattern for the verses:
