WELCOME TO WEEK 8
During week 8 we usually make a joint selection of the three songs that you would like perform as a group at the end of term celebration. In light of the current situation I am taking a wild guess that the event will be cancelled. We will aim to put it on at a later date if possible, but for now we will be switching from a live performance to a remote recording challenge. If you would like to get involved, please download and read the HOW TO RECORD PDF by clicking the blue button below and complete the short form underneath to submit your song choice options no later than 5pm on Friday 20th March. We will go with the majority of votes which will be announced shortly after 5pm on Friday.

Have a listen/play-along with the tracks below before you decide on which two to choose for recording.

NEXT STEPS
This is the week where we would normally run through all of the training we have done thus far in preparation for rehearsals that would start next week. Instead I will now release essential training material one song per week from the majority selections over the next two weeks so that you can practice your parts for remote recording.
Song 1 will be released on Tuesday 20th March at 5pm and song 2 the following week at the same time. This is the release time for both classes. Please submit your song selections using the form no later than 5pm this Friday 20th March. More instructions will be given upon release of the song training content.
UCL CLUB COLLABORATION SONG: As well as the two songs selected by each of the groups there will be an extra track with calls or submissions from all classes. This song is 'STAND BY ME' so make sure you get lots of strumming and riffing practice in. You will get to decide which part you would like to submit upon further instruction.
THE FUTURE OF UCL: At this moment in time the future is as misty as the morning moors in a winters song. As an independently run club we fully rely on the income of members course fees, gig payments and peripatetic teaching work. As you may be aware all gigs and events have now been cancelled until at least May and all zero contracted music teaching across the board has now come to a grinding halt with absolutely no alternative solution of support in sight. As dedicated musicians and music leaders we will do everything we can to ensure that the Club is able to continue once the craziness ends, but in the meantime we will be working towards moving all of our ukulele courses online. It would really be amazing if you could sign up to one of the courses when they are released on 20th April 2020. They will be available for pre-booking from 4th April, when we would of had enrolment day - which is now cancelled too. All current UCL members will be provided with a discounted COUPON CODE to use in conjunction with any of the online courses once they are released as a way to show our appreciation of your support in these absurd times. It would be great if you could share them on your social media networks too.
