UCL PLAY - WEEK 5
"NOW & THEN"
& MEDLEY

This week you will explore the latest Beatles track released in 2023, NOW & THEN.

Five decades in the making and some new technology developed by Peter Jackson & his software team within the production of Get Back made it possible to separate Johns 1970s recorded guitar and vocals to produce a fresh, clean mix which hit the tops of the charts in December 2024 a week after entering the chart at no 42.

Have a listen to the Baritone parts played along with the original Beatles track and download the song sheet below:

The Chords

You'll be glad to see that most of the chord shapes are quite basic and in open position.

The STRUMMING PATTERNS

Intro & Verses
This is the main strumming pattern for the intro and verses, which is slightly less busy than the pattern for the chorus and intro sections. Where the two bars of E7 are played you will need to stop on the + of beat 3 before going into the Asus2 and Am bars. On the Am you can go into the next strumming pattern so it builds as you enter the chorus.
See the video below for more details.
