​GIG ANNOUNCEMENT:

We have been invited to perform at St Stephens United Reformed church Wavetree but they only want a handful of performers, so if you are willing and available the information is as follows:

If you can make this gig there will be a rehearsal from 11.15am at UCL HQ on the same day. 

LOCATION: St Stephens Church Garden, The corner of Lance Lane/Woolton Road, L 15 6TZ
ARRIVE TIME: 12.30pm
SET TIME: 1.00pm
SET LENGTH: 30 mins

EQUIPMENT: Stands, pegs, songbooks, ukuleles, tuners

Strumming Patterns

INTRO.

You will keep it nice and simple for the intro with just down strums for the 1st beat of each two bars. Have a listen to the audio below

PART 1
This section alternates between the rock strum and simple down strums as illustrated below:

PART 2
This section is played twice round and just appears once in the song.

PART 3
This section is where the song begins to slow down at the end for the marching style rhythm.

PART 4
This section is played on the beat 3 tomes on Em then uses a 16th note rock pattern for the 3 e + a 4 e + a and also comes in at part 9 (just one round), 14 and 16for the outro section. (x3 rounds with an extra single on Em to end)

PART 5 - 9
This section uses a 16th note pattern, which an be counted: 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 e + a (16 beats per bar)
It is played 7 times in total to take you right through sections 6, 7 and 8.

PART 9 is the same as PART 4 played once round.

This section is just two downbeats per chord with the whole section being repeated 4 times. This section also comes in at part 15:
