The UCL Festive Fundraiser has been confirmed for Wednesday 5th July at Sefton Park Cricket Club from 7.30pm as this was the only availability they had which means we may have to move our final rehearsal session to either the Monday or Tuesday evenings on the 3rd or 4th of July - which we can discuss in class.

Tickets for friends & family NOW AVAILABLE HERE.

CAN YOU HELP? If anyone would like to donate any raffle prizes to the fundraiser effort for Summer Strum, any items such as plonk, chocolates and other goodies are very welcome. Please pop them into class.

WEEK 7

PDF DOWNLOAD - FOLSOM PRISON BLUES

This week you will explore the song, "FOLSOM PRISON BLUES", originally written by Johnny Cash in 1953 while stationed in Germany serving in the Air Force. Cash was inspired to pen the song after seeing the Hollywood drama film “Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison.” It was first recorded in 1955 for his debut studio album Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar! Even though the song has the word 'Blues' in the title, the style of the song is actually a combination of Folk and Country music, with a train track like rhythm that became one of Cash's signature styles of playing guitar.
