WEEK 6

WELCOME BACK! Hope you had a lovely half term break. This week you will explore a CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE written by Freddie Mercury for Queen, also in 1979.
In February 1980, it reached No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it would hold that position for four consecutive weeks. The song was Queen's first No. 1 single in the United States. Freddie's main instrument was piano and as he only knew a few chords on guitar he was restricted to just 3 chords, but what a song!

CRAZY LITTLE THING
CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE was written as a tribute to Elvis Presley, and was composed on guitar in about five to 10 minutes according to Freddie. This song is written in the style of Rock-a-Billy / Rock n'n' Roll.

This arrangement of the song utilises a suspended 4th chord on the D major for the intro and verses, a number of strumming patterns and a few simple riff rundowns.
