UCL 2.2 - WEEK 6
"ALL TOGETHER NOW"
This week you will explore ALL TOGETHER NOW by Liverpool band, THE FARM. This was a song released back in the 1990s and may be having a re-release very soon!
Donwload the PDF containing both the song sheet and structure and have a listen to the options for the level 2.2 part below:
CHORDS
The best thing about this song is that all sections are in strophic form, meaning the chord sequence repeats for all sections (except the 2nd bridge) so for the bits without singing you will explore some alternative chord positions as follows:
For the verse and chorus sections you can use the open chords, all of which you should be very familiar with by now.
Strumming Patterns
There are 3 main patterns to contend with at this leve1.
- SINGLE STRUMS Appears on the first beat of each bar for the intro and chorus 1 sections.
- CALYPSO STRUMS for chorus 2 sections
- 16th STRUMS for the verses and the Middle 8 sections as follows:
The RIFF
The riff is slightly tricky due to the speed, but if you are up for the challenge, give it a go. Start off slow until you get the hang of it. You will need to repeat this riff 8 times for the intro section, bridge 1 and just 4 times for the 2nd bridge. It also comes in on the last two chorus 2 sections.
Here is the riff slowed down to 70BPM. Practice along with this until you feel confident to speed up. The song is at 110BPPM.
