This week you will explore a 1960s classic song. "BE MY BABY" was the Ronettes' biggest hit, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and is considered one of the best songs of the 1960s by NME magazine. The song was written by Phil Spector and it is only the late Ronnie whose voice actually appears on the recorded version.
This song was been described as the 'Rosetta Stone' for studio engineering, and both the Beatles and Beach Boys where highly inspired by it, with Brian Wilson of the Beach boys declaring 'BE MY BABY' the greatest pop record ever made. I might have to agree. Click on the second blue link to see them perform on stage at the Moulin Rouge Club and just listen to that reception they get. 

SOLO TAB

The solo part for this song is so effective and yet so simple. All notes are played one the A string and are literally played on the beat starting at beat two of bar one. The two dots at the end of the phrase mean you should repeat the sequence from the two dots at the beginning of the phrase. Try memorising this sequence for performing instead of depending on the notes and you may just find it a little more enjoyable.
