JAIL HOUSE ROCK
JHR SOLO
JAIL HOUSE ROCK - LEFT
This week you will explore "JAIL HOUSE ROCK" recorded by Elvis Presley for the film of the same name. It was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The song was released on a 45 rpm single on September 24, 1957 as the first single from the film's soundtrack EP. It reached the top of the charts in the U.S. and the top 10 in several other countries. For the solo you will explore a Rock 'N' Roll riff which can be transferred to tonnes of other rock n roll songs.

SOLO TAB

The solo part is an 8 bar pattern that consists of picking notes out of each of the chords you play with a flattened 7th to give it that blues sound that Rock n Roll originated from.
