RACE FOR LIFE
We were delighted to support thousands of wonderful women dressed in Pink for the annual 10k Race for Life in Sefton Park early July. The sun was shining and spirits were high as the runners ran past to the sounds of the UCL Massive playing their summer hits..
SUMMER STRUM
Summer Strum 2016 took place in July and it was absolutely incredible, regardless of the drizzle.
As usual it kicked of with a Friday night Jam in the club house which ignited high spirits and good times for all. Saturday saw the main stage kick off with Ukiverse and then played host to some of the most weird and wonderful ukulele acts from all over the UK - jam packed full of enthusiasm, smiling faces and good will.
The main stage headliners, the Ukulele Uff Trio ended the 1st day in delightfully charming, highly skilled fashion, performing classic songs from the 1920's era in a style they do best. They dedicated Irving Berlin's classic tune BLUE SKIES to UCL - and it worked a treat as the sun came out and blue skies reigned most of2nd day on Sunday when UCL graced the stage... so thanks fellas!
Footage and blogs all about it coming soon so stay tuned. But for now - the video above was the final performance of the festival and what a way to end such an awesome ukulele adventure. Defo 5**** from us and we cannot wait for next year!! Big thanks to Pat, Emma, WUO and everyone else involved in organising, managing and being totally awesome.

UCL OPEN MIC - END OF TERM
What a way to end the UCL summer term than with an Open Mic take over at the Fulwood Arms. All levels got to perform their new skills and what an awesome job they all did of it too! Great work from everyone this term and a special shout out to the UCL Music Leaders for doing a great job!! We were also over the moon to have the Ukuleighties perform as a one off special and of course it's always a pleasure to hear the Whiskey Situation! Good luck & Best wishes to Terry Gray who will be heading off to shores afar to take on his new music career.
Liverpool Pride & YPAS
The UCL MASSIVE marched at Liverpool Pride 2016 armed with their ukuleles, mascot, tribute T-shirts and colourful accessories for the second year running - and what fun it was. Once the march was over they headed over to the YPAS centre to perform for the youth LGBTQ community - who appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves!! And if that wasn't enough - the UCL House band AKA THE COMMON PEOPLE graced the Plataeu Stage at St Georges Hall later that evening to perform for the Proud festival goers. A great day had by all!
UCL will be back for the festive season in September. Registration to enrol on UCL courses will be open on 22nd August 2016. Stay tuned.
